Nextrials, Inc. to Preview Clinical Trial Data Platform Prism(R)'s New Integrated EHR Tools at HIMSS12

SAN RAMON, CA and LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - February 16, 2012) - HIMSS12 -- Nextrials, Inc. (www.nextrials.com), a leader in clinical research software and services, will give a sneak preview of two new integration tools for its award-winning clinical trial management platform, Prism®, at the 2012 Annual Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Conference and Exhibition, being held February 20-24 at the Venetian Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas. E2E™, a tool for data collection, and Pharos™, a safety reporting module, are completely integrated with platforms used in the healthcare setting for establishing and maintaining electronic health records (EHR) and are now available for pilot use in clinical trials. They are the industry's first early phase integration tools to be offered in conjunction with an electronic data capture (EDC) product such as Prism.

During the HIMSS Interoperability Showcase (Hall C, Booth #11000) on February 21-23, Prism will facilitate live data streaming between multiple EHR vendors and data recipients, and conference attendees will get a first look at how the new tools provide enhanced safety reporting and data collection. Nextrials is one of just two EDC solution providers participating in the showcase.

"Although only in the pilot stage, we want our customers to have the opportunity to see Prism's new tools in action," said James Rogers, CEO and co-founder of Nextrials. "Through interoperability showcases such as the one sponsored by HIMSS, we can demonstrate the benefits of using new tools such as these within an integrated EDC/EHR platform in terms of faster study starts, lower management costs and more comprehensive patient care."

Nextrials' award-winning Prism melds sophisticated clinical trial management functionality with EDC in a single, integrated package. By receiving a constant flow of data, Prism enables sponsors and sites to fully utilize real-time integration of disparate information and data sources, such as a hospital's EHR or patient records, to better provide a continuum of care for patients enrolled in clinical trials.

The HIMSS Interoperability Showcase features more than 70+ clinical information systems from ambulatory, hospital/provider, emergency, chronic care, public health, clinical research and others. These systems connect seamlessly in the Connected Demonstration area using standards-based solutions such as IHE, ONC/HITSP and ONC-recognized standards. The collaborative effort of the leading vendors and organizations in the HIMSS Interoperability Showcase are breaking the barriers to implementation to provide clinical research and healthcare organizations with effective, economical solutions.
