- RAD Technology Medical Systems to Showcase Healing Portals at the 2017 ASTRO and SROA Annual Meetings

AVENTURA, Fla., Sept. 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- RAD Technology Medical Systems announced today that it will be introducing its latest product, Healing Portals at the annual American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) meeting and the Society for Radiation Oncology Administrators (SROA) meeting in San Diego, September 24-27, 2017. Attendees are invited to learn about Healing Portals and meet the RAD staff at ASTRO Booth number 1009 and SROA table number 16.

Promote serenity and a healing environment by theming your therapy room door with an image that helps patients escape while entering your treatment room. RAD can provide a variety of scenes including those from your local region. Doors can be changed seasonally or customized with your own message.

Healing Portals are photographic images that are installed on radiotherapy treatment room vault doors. These images turn the radiotherapy doors into a work of art, providing the patients with something beautiful or interesting to look at. Healing Portals help the patients to escape while entering the treatment room and are designed to promote serenity and a healing environment.

RAD's work of constructing radiotherapy vaults and clinics led to the creation of Healing Portals. The RAD Team knew there must be something they could do to turn the large cumbersome doors from a negative to a positive. Thus, Healing Portals were born.

The first Healing Portals have been installed at the University of California San Diego (UCSD). Two are installed in the RAD PROVault and Clinic that UCSD has on their campus at the Moores Cancer Center and two others are installed on the doors at the radiotherapy suite located across the street in the radiation oncology building. The Healing Portals installed in the RAD PROVault are available for viewing during the tours of the facility being held on Sunday, September 24th- Wednesday, September 27th.
