Apotex, which is a large supplier of generic drugs in Canada, is lashing out the nation’s regulator, alleging in a lawsuit that a recent ban by Health Canada imposed on drugs from its Indian plants was illegal and politically motivated, The Toronto Star writes.
The generic drug maker alleges that Health Minister Rona Ambrose acted with “malice” and buckled under political pressure after media reports exposed problems in its Bangalore facilities.
