Boston, MA (February 13, 2009) -- AMICAS, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMCS), a leader in radiology and medical image and information management solutions, today announced that Board of Directors member Dr. Phillip Berman passed away on February 8, 2009, due to complications from lung cancer. Dr. Berman was 55 years old.
“We are profoundly saddened by the loss of our board member, dear friend, and impressive person, Phil Berman,” said Stephen Kahane MD, president, chief executive officer, and chairman of AMICAS. “Phil’s contributions and guidance over the years helped establish AMICAS as a leader in image and information management solutions.”
