It doesn’t matter what kind of diet you use as long as you stick with it and combine it with exercise, according to a new study based out of McMaster University in Hamilton. Popular diets like the Atkins Diet, Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig aren’t much different when it comes to losing weight, according to the research, published Wednesday in the Journal of the American Medical Association. What is important are the support systems the programs offer and combining them with exercise, said Bradley Johnston, the study’s lead author and an assistant professor of clinical epidemiology at McMaster’s medical school.
