West Appoints Silji Abraham Chief Digital and Transformation Officer

Mr. Abraham will serve on the senior leadership team, and oversee the Company’s Information Technology (IT) and Enterprise Business Systems organizations

EXTON, Pa., Feb. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- West Pharmaceutical Services (NYSE: WST), a global leader in innovative solutions for injectable drug administration, today announced Silji Abraham has been appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Digital and Transformation Officer, and will be responsible for driving a digital transformation at West to improve business performance across the enterprise. Effective February 26, 2018, Mr. Abraham will serve on the senior leadership team, and oversee the Company’s Information Technology (IT) and Enterprise Business Systems organizations.

In this new role, Mr. Abraham will be responsible for ensuring the Company’s IT infrastructure, cyber security and business systems best support West’s global business operations across 50 sites. In addition, he will lead West’s ongoing efforts to enhance customer engagement through digital marketing, digital manufacturing, and automations to accelerate internal business processes.

Mr. Abraham brings more than 20 years of experience in leading IT organizations, and most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) of MilliporeSigma, a subsidiary of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany. Prior to this role, Mr. Abraham served as CIO at Sigma-Aldrich Corporation, and worked in various senior IT leadership roles at Invensys Operations Management. He also brings experience working in product engineering, supply chain and software engineering from his time at ArvinMeritor, DaimlerChrysler and Chrysler.

Mr. Abraham received a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from the George Washington University School of Business and a Master of Business Administration in International Business Operations from Lawrence Technological University. He also holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University.
