Tourism to Atlantic City Bucks National Trend: Showed Growth In 2008 with Rail Travel and Hotel Bookings Up In The City That’s ‘Always Turned On’

PRNewswire -- An increase in some key tourism indicators in Atlantic City in 2008 bucked negative national trends and demonstrated that U.S. travelers are seeking nearby, domestic vacation destinations that offer a full range of leisure experiences over their counterparts in farther reaches of the country and overseas. According to the United States Travel Association (USTA), Rail travel on Amtrak was down by 1.2% as compared to the year before. Room demand, meanwhile, sank 3.6% overall across the nation.
