The Week In Review: First Positive Week Of The Year

January 30, 2005 -- For the first time so far this year, stocks managed to put together a positive showing during the last week. The Centient Biotech 200 gained 21.48 points, a rise of .65%, to close at 3341.68. So far this year, the CBT 200 is down 6.64%. Over the past 12 months, the index is 7.5% above the lows set during last August, and 11.3% off the highs of Spring 2004. We discuss Affymetrix and Imclone, both of which bounced higher after delivering good earnings reports, and ViaCell, an IPO that keeps rising.
