MUNDELEIN, Ill., Aug. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Sysmex America, Inc. announced today that Robert E. Degnan has been named as Vice President of Sales. In his new role, Degnan will develop, manage, and guide the sales activities of the organization with a marked focus on fortifying the company’s market and target customer strategies, said John Kershaw, President, Sysmex America, Inc. Degnan, who will report directly to the company president, will be accountable for all US-based account management, health systems sales, sales support and training. Degnan joins Sysmex America September 8, 2006.
Prior to joining Sysmex America, Degnan served a 23-year tenure with Roche Diagnostics where he held a number of senior leadership sales positions including his most recent one as the Area Director-Northeast, Systems and Reagents. During this time, he oversaw the areas of centralized diagnostics involving: Sysmex’s portfolio during the Sysmex/Roche Diagnostics alliance, molecular diagnostics (highlighted by the successful launch of their HIV Monitor in US Market place) and key account management. Degnan is a recipient of the 2004 Dr. Hubert Rehkaemper Award of Excellence for Outstanding Leadership.
Degnan’s range of knowledge and industry experience also includes the development of a laboratory automation team, market launches of leading diagnostic systems and account services for major US reference laboratories and integrated health networks. Prior to Roche, Degnan worked in sales at Warner Lambert.
