EGMN -- The constellation of risk factors known as the metabolic syndrome was associated with a 1.5-fold increase in all-cause mortality and a 2-fold increase in cardiovascular outcomes, in a meta-analysis published online Sept. 20 in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
