BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 20, 2005--Medicare head Dr. Mark McClellan and renowned Johns Hopkins surgeon Dr. Benjamin Carson will present keynote addresses at the Pri-Med Mid-Atlantic Conference & Exhibition in Baltimore, MD October 6-8. More than 4000 primary care practitioners are expected to attend the three-day meeting at the Baltimore Convention Center. Mark McClellan, MD, PhD was appointed Administrator of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services in 2004, after serving as Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration. An economist as well as physician, Dr. McClellan was previously a member of the President’s Council of Economic Advisors under President Bush and Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Treasury under President Clinton. He holds appointments as both associate professor of economics and associate professor of medicine at Stanford University.
