Medicare Complete by UnitedHealthcare is notifying enrollees that the company is participating in the new Medicare-approved drug discount card program.(1) Across the nation, Medicare Complete (HMO) enrollees will be receiving a single card they can use to access covered benefits, as well as obtain discounts on prescription medications. Medicare Complete Choice (PPO) enrollees in Iowa and Nebraska will also receive the new prescription drug discount card. The federally endorsed discount drug card program is a key component of the Medicare Modernization Act. The program is designed to serve as a bridge to reduce drug costs until the Medicare prescription drug benefit begins in 2006.
