The event is free and will help provide background on 2019 Medicare options, including Medicare Advantage plans. The expo will include light refreshments and an opportunity to meet the “Columbus 60 Strong Ambassadors,” inspirational Columbus-area residents in their sixties who will be featured in an exclusive 2019 calendar highlighting landmarks, entertainment and activities around Central Ohio. Central Ohio Primary Care (COPC) is hosting the event and will have representatives available to answer questions about the new COPC Senior Care Advantage program. COPC Senior Care Advantage provides access to wellness and health education services and care coordination resources when needed. Between October 15 and December 7, Medicare beneficiaries have the opportunity to explore and choose 2019 Medicare coverage. The choices include traditional Medicare or Medicare Advantage. The Medicare Advantage plans, which generally provide additional benefits such as prescription drug coverage, are offered by health insurance companies that contract with Medicare.
