Healthcare’s Demand for Identity & Access Management Solutions Nets $18.9 Million In Sales For Sentillion; Company Posts Record Quarter

ANDOVER, Mass., May 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Sentillion, Inc., the leading provider of identity and access management solutions for the healthcare industry, announced today it posted a strong quarter ending March 31, closing $18.9 million in sales.

Sentillion's identity and access management products help healthcare provider organizations meet their urgent need for patient safety and privacy, streamlined workflows, regulatory compliance, and protection of data and information sources. Sentillion's Vergence product suite enables organizations to know who their users are -- identity management -- and to help them be productive while ensuring system security and guarding patient confidentiality -- access management. Vergence is a modularized suite that includes user provisioning, strong authentication, single sign-on, clinical context management and privacy auditing.

Sentillion's customers include clinics, community hospitals, academic centers, integrated delivery networks, and federal health facilities. New customers in Q1 included Genesis HealthCare System in Zanesville, Ohio; HealthEast Care System in St. Paul, Minn; the New Brunswick Regional Health Authorities; Sisters of Mercy Health System in St. Louis, Mo.; Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston, West Va.; and the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Mich.; among others.

"As part of our new clinical information technology roll-out, we needed a solution that would enable our caregivers to quickly and securely access patient data across new, as well as existing, applications," said Ron Strachan, vice president and CIO, HealthEast Care System. "Sentillion's single sign-on and patient context sharing solutions are well ahead of the other vendors we evaluated. We selected Sentillion because of their track record in enabling fast and secure access to electronic patient records for a wide range of healthcare organizations. We had the opportunity to visit and speak with existing Sentillion customers and could see Vergence in action, which gave us the confidence that it would meet the needs of our caregivers."

Both the United States and Canada have developed an increased focus on moving electronic health records into the mainstream. The first quarter also marked Sentillion's successful expansion into Canada with the signing of two contracts -- the New Brunswick Regional Health Authorities and the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority.

"Sentillion's success this quarter is a result of a number of factors. The healthcare industry's use of information technology is now mainstream, and the need to safeguard sensitive information without impeding the care delivery process has become paramount. At the same time, Sentillion's products are now a proven and trusted technology, providing healthcare organizations with the confidence that they need to move forward with broad based enterprise-wide deployments," commented Robert Seliger, president and CEO of Sentillion. "The result is that Sentillion's focus on solving the unique access and security management challenges found in healthcare has helped to create a tipping point in the market demand for identity and access management solutions."

"We decided to announce our financial progress because this news illustrates that the healthcare industry is making significant investments to revolutionize delivery of care via information technology," said Seliger. "For example, recent news has heightened industry and consumer awareness about the need for improved protection of personal information, including electronic medical records. Sentillion is working with healthcare organizations to ensure that patient privacy is safeguarded with solutions such as Vergence. Our sales performance in Q1 is evidence that healthcare organizations are making a clear commitment to protect the sensitive information that they deal with on a daily basis.
