Fazzalari, MD, FACS chief of Cardiac Surgery for the new open heart surgery program at Crittenton’s Heart Center. “Dr. Fazzalari comes to Crittenton with exceptional credentials,” said Crittenton’s president and CEO Lynn Orfgen. “Dr. Fazzalari has specialized expertise in valve repair and replacement, coronary artery bypass surgery including beating heart surgery, heart failure surgery, cardiac transplantation and ventricular assist devices,” he added.

Dr. Fazzalari received his medical degree and General Surgery training at the University of Michigan and completed his Cardiothoracic Surgery residency training at the Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Fazzalari is the recipient of several awards, including the Frederick A. Coller Traveling Fellowship and is a James B. Angell Scholar from The University of Michigan.
He is published widely and is a member of many professional organizations, including the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the Frederick A. Coller Surgical Society and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
