KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Benjamin A. Snyder, FACMPE, president and CEO of TeamHealth Anesthesia Management Services (THAMS) and MGMA board member, received the Harry J. Harwick Lifetime Achievement Award from the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) and the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE), the certification and standard-setting body of MGMA. Snyder accepted the award at the MGMA 2005 Annual Conference in Nashville, Tenn., on October 25, 2005.
The prestigious Harry J. Harwick Lifetime Achievement Award is the association's highest recognition given to individuals who have displayed lifetimes of achievement and made outstanding, nationally recognized contributions to healthcare delivery, administration and education in medical group practice.

He has also held senior executive positions at Scripps Clinic, Sharp Healthcare, UniHealth/UniMed, and Camino Medical Group throughout his 25-year career in medical group management. Mr. Snyder is a frequent speaker on medical group management topics and was a major contributing author to a recently published book entitled, Medical Group Management: Strategies for Enhancing Performance. He is a Fellow of the ACMPE and currently serves on the board of directors of the MGMA and the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).
