DETROIT, Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southeastern Michigan (RMHC) has awarded more than $30,000 to several organizations during the third quarter of 2004. As part of the Ronald McDonald House Charities goal, these funds support numerous programs that directly benefit children.
“Ronald McDonald House Charities is very proud to be able to provide support to these organizations that make an immediate and positive impact in the lives of children across Michigan,” said John Kostecki, President of the Ronald McDonald House Charities Southeastern Michigan Chapter. “Through our efforts, we can continue to improve the lives of thousands of children who need assistance,” said Kostecki.
Third quarter RMHC grant recipients include:
Boysville of Michigan received a $10,045 grant to fund construction of seven wheelchair ramps over a 12-month period. Boysville provides long-term residential care for children who are unable to live at home due to abuse, neglect, abandonment or family crisis. Boysville offers a safe, structured, family-like environment for girls and boys ages 5 to 17.
The Four County Foundation received a $10,000 grant to fund the construction of a skate park that will benefit more than 2,000 children annually. The Four County Foundation is a nonprofit, community organization created to serve residents living in the northeast corner of Oakland county, the southeast corner of Lapeer county, the southwest corner of St. Clair county and the northwest corner of Macomb county.
St. Peter’s Home for Boys received a $12,408 grant to purchase desktop computers, printers, software and testing materials to improve students’ reading and math skills. The St. Peter’s Home for Boys’ mission provides residential care to boys aged 11 to 19 who require placement outside of their home.
