ARDEN HILLS, Minn., April 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Prospex Medical, Inc., a medical technology incubator, announced today that it has secured a $1.5M seed round of financing. Polaris Venture Partners and New Enterprise Associates (NEA) co-led the round, joined by Michael Berman.
Prospex Medical, co-founded by Michael Berman and Robert Atkinson, and together with Chad Kugler, is focused on innovating and incubating novel medical technologies. Michael Berman will serve as Chairman, and has extensive experience in the medical technology field as an entrepreneur (co- founder Velocimed, Benechill, Aetherworks I & II), as an active investor and board member (CoAxia, Transoma, Myocor, Curon, TopSpin), and in corporate management (former President, Boston Scientific CardioVascular). Bob Atkinson will serve as President, and is a registered patent attorney with significant experience as an entrepreneur (SpinaLabs, Aetherworks I & II), as corporate and private patent counsel, and as an engineer (SCIMED), all in the medical device industry. Chad Kugler will serve as Vice President, and has broad experience in medical device product development (Torax Medical, Teramed/J&J, Boston Scientific SCIMED).
