PricewaterhouseCoopers Names New Healthcare Industry Leadership Team

NEW YORK, Oct. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP today announced a new leadership team for its growing healthcare practice in the United States. This leadership team has been created as part of the firm’s commitment to delivering best-in-class solutions to the dynamic and rapidly changing healthcare industry.

 The following individuals have been named to this team: * James (Jim) Henry has been appointed the firm’s Healthcare Industry leader, and will be responsible for all client services, business operations and management within the practice. Jim also will coordinate the firm’s health-related industries initiative and directly lead the Healthcare Advisory practice, which provides performance improvement, crisis management and transaction support services to the sector. Mr. Henry, who had been with PricewaterhouseCoopers since 1981, was previously a regional managing tax partner, and has held leadership roles in the firm’s Technology industry and various other practices. He received his B.S. in business administration from San Diego State University and attended the Center for Creative Leadership’s Executive Development Program. He will continue to be based in the firm’s Atlanta office. * Kelly Barnes has been named U.S. Healthcare Industry marketing and thought leader. In this role, Barnes will lead the firm’s marketing, solution development, knowledge management, thought leadership and research initiatives for the healthcare industry. She will also coordinate similar programs for the firm’s health-related industries initiative. Barnes has more than 15 years of experience providing healthcare clients both internal and external audit, financial analysis and strategic consulting. Prior to this appointment Ms. Barnes was the firm’s U.S. healthcare assurance leader and southwest region healthcare industry leader. Based in the firm’s Dallas office, Ms. Barnes will continue to have significant client responsibilities in both the assurance and advisory practice areas. A nationally recognized speaker for regional and national industry seminars, Mr. Barnes earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees in accounting from the University of Arkansas. * Robert (Bob) Valletta has been named U.S. Healthcare Industry assurance leader. He will lead the firm’s national healthcare assurance practice, while at the same time advancing the firm’s position in the national markets through new targeting activities and increasing partner and professional resources in selected growth markets. Mr. Valletta has been with the firm for more than 20 years, and is a renowned thought leader for accounting and financial reporting matters that affect the healthcare industry. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Valletta was the firm’s U.S. healthcare markets leader, and also has served as the northeast healthcare industry leader. He received his B.B.A. from Siena College in New York and graduated from the Tuck Executive Program at Dartmouth College. He is based in the Boston office of PricewaterhouseCoopers. * Marcia (Marci) Krause has been appointed U.S. Healthcare Industry tax leader, responsible for oversight of the firm’s U.S. healthcare tax and human resource services practice. An 18-year veteran of tax service consulting, Ms. Krause most recently served as leader of PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Exempt Organizations Practice, where she advised clients in the healthcare, education and other service sectors on how to navigate through tax issues and maximize their resources. Ms. Krause, who serves clients from the firm’s Washington D.C. office, holds a B.S. degree in accounting from the University of Virginia and an M.S. in Taxation from the College of William and Mary.
