HCCB Accredits Health Care Compliance Certificate Program Offered By Quinnipiac University

MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The Healthcare Compliance Certification Board (HCCB) announced today that it has approved the accreditation of the Quinnipiac University’s Health Care Compliance Certificate Program. This accreditation will be for the period of October 12, 2004 to October 12, 2005.

“Quinnipiac University’s Compliance Certificate program has successfully met all criteria as established by the HCCB,” said Debbie Troklus, President, HCCB.

Quinnipiac University’s Health Care Compliance Certificate Program is the first program the Healthcare Compliance Certification Board has accredited. A letter from the HCCB and signed by Ms. Troklus to Quinnipiac University announcing the program’s accreditation stated the following:

Quinnipiac University Health Care Compliance Certificate Program

The Quinnipiac University Health Care Compliance Certificate Program will provide qualified students with a sound academic foundation and the skills for practical implementation required to function as competent and knowledgeable health care compliance professionals. Quinnipiac University’s Health Care Compliance Certificate is available to Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), Juris Doctorate (JD) students, those pursuing a combined JD/MBA and healthcare professionals meeting specified admission criteria. Completion of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution will be a prerequisite to admission to this certificate program.

Courses for completion of the Health Care Compliance Certificate will encompass the following areas: a newly developed compliance course, general management principles, legal aspects of health care compliance, and financial management/auditing. Graduate and law courses will compose the sixteen- credit certificate program. Upon completion of these courses Quinnipiac will award a Health Care Compliance Certificate and the student will be eligible to sit for the Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) test, sponsored by HCCB.

The Healthcare Compliance Certification Board was established in 1999 by the Health Care Compliance Association.
