AMSTERDAM, Netherlands, July 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Elsevier, a world-leading healthcare and scientific publisher, announced today that it has finalized the acquisition of MC Strategies, Inc., a US-based firm that specializes in developing and delivering online training content for the healthcare industry.
The acquisition of MC Strategies, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, enables Elsevier to expand its offerings in online continuing education and training for the healthcare market. Since 1986, MC Strategies has pioneered new services for the healthcare industry ranging from web-based training content (WebInservice(r)) for healthcare professionals to hospital quality assurance consulting for enterprise-wide compliance. MC Strategies has a client base of some of the largest integrated healthcare delivery networks in the US, including over 1000 hospitals, colleges and universities.
“We are excited about this opportunity to build on the successful partnership, initially formed by MC Strategies and Elsevier in October 2004 to create an authoritative, online Medical/Surgical Nursing Curriculum for the healthcare industry,” noted Don Galimore, CEO of MC Strategies. “We believe that our clients will be well served by the proven benefits derived from combining the two companies. The value for our customers lies in the nexus of world-class content, excellent technology, and superb customer service.” Mr. Galimore has been active in the healthcare industry since 1976 and will continue to lead MC Strategies.
“We are delighted to expand our e-learning offerings to provide our nurses, doctors and hospital administrators with a full service portfolio of health care content and tools,” said Brian Nairn, CEO of Elsevier, Health Sciences. “We view this as a key step in further expanding our leading solutions for the evolving needs of the growing medical, nursing, and allied healthcare professions, who are faced with ever-increasing time pressures and information overload. MC Strategies’ extensive experience in the online continuing education field, coupled with Elsevier’s established branded content offerings, make this a great fit.’'
