Elluminate Delivers Synchronous Content For University Of Kansas Medical Center

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Aug. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Elluminate, Inc., a leading provider of live eLearning and Web collaboration solutions for the real-time organization, announced today that the University of Kansas (KU) Medical Center has selected Elluminate Live! Academic Edition(TM) to deliver synchronous course content, replacing WebEx. The university will use Elluminate Live! in its Schools of Allied Health, Medicine, and Nursing for students in Kansas City, throughout the state, and across the nation.

After an extensive selection process, only Elluminate Live! met all requirements, including the availability of an ASP hosting model as well as a complete package of features with integrated audio that eliminated the need for a second phone line. In addition, KU Medical Center wanted to record sessions for later playback. The university piloted Elluminate Live! with two courses during the summer and will roll out the product this fall to the rest of the campus. In the future, Elluminate Live! will be integrated with Blackboard, the university's asynchronous learning management system.

"Elluminate Live! has everything we wanted and a lot more support than anticipated," said Darrin Cheney, Director of Teaching and Learning Technologies for KU Medical Center. "At Elluminate, everyone from sales to support has contributed to a very productive and positive experience. It's all about what you can do for the students. With Elluminate Live! the focus is on teaching and learning, not on the product. That makes a huge difference. We have groups of faculty already waiting in line to use it."

"Enhancing teaching and learning is what we are all about at Elluminate," said Maurice Heiblum, Elluminate's VP of Sales & Marketing. "We are extremely pleased that the University of Kansas Medical Center has joined the hundreds of academic institutions who are already using Elluminate to deliver real- time, interactive, effective education over the Internet."
