A multi-disciplinary team of clinicians and administrators selected Eclipsys Sunrise Clinical Manager(TM) after an extensive review of three vendors. The team selected Eclipsys based on a high-level of clinician satisfaction following Eclipsys product demonstrations. The selection committee was especially impressed with the documented outcomes of patient safety improvements that healthcare organizations have achieved using Eclipsys Sunrise Clinical Manager.
Sunrise Clinical Manager is an enterprise-wide electronic health record solution that provides immediate, secure access to patients’ complete records, streamlines care processes and improves the quality and cost-efficiency of care. It features a state-of-the-art workflow engine, embedded evidence-based content, and sophisticated clinical documentation capabilities.
“Eclipsys can meet the clinical information technology needs of healthcare providers of virtually any size, not just large medical centers and integrated delivery networks,” said Paul L. Ruflin, Eclipsys president and CEO. “The inherent scalability of Eclipsys solutions allows community hospitals such as Community General Hospital to realize their goals of reduced costs, increased efficiency and improved patient care.”
Transforming clinical care processes
According to Mitch Rozonkiewiecz, chief information officer at Community General Hospital, the healthcare organization was looking for an information solution that would help it transform clinical care processes across the health system with the end goal of improved patient care, safety and clinician satisfaction. “Sunrise Clinical Manager will help ensure that our physicians, nurses, managers and others have the information they need to make the best decisions for their patients. Our expectation is a connected enterprise that operates efficiently, with minimal paper, to improve patient safety, enhance physician satisfaction and assist in physician retention and recruitment,” said Rozonkiewiecz.
Community General Hospital will also deploy Sunrise Surgical Manager(TM) powered by Surgical Information Systems, a business partner of Eclipsys. This partnership provides a perioperative information system that delivers clinical integration between operating rooms and the rest of the healthcare facility.
