Melbourne, Australia: Medical device company dorsaVi Limited (ASX: DVL) (“the Company”) has today announced the acquisition of Australian Workplace Compliance Pty Ltd to increase the Company’s service offering and client base in the occupational health and safety (OH&S) market.

Australian Workplace Compliance was founded by Mark Heaysman and provides OH&S operational and procedural analysis, supporting the development of strategic compliance and risk mitigation solutions to a variety of clients in industries including manufacturing, outdoor adventure and logistics and distribution.

The acquisition will enable dorsaVi to offer both new and existing clients a comprehensive suite of solutions, including ViSafe, to help reduce incidents and the severity of workplace injuries. As part of the acquisition Mark will join dorsaVi as an employee. The purchase price for Australian Workplace Compliance is A$120,000 and if Mark’s employment ceases within 12 months, dorsaVi will sell that company back to him at cost.

dorsaVi CEO Andrew Ronchi said the acquisition of Australian Workplace Compliance is an exciting step forward for the Company and will help drive ViSafe further into the OH&S market and builds on the partnership with Allianz that was announced in March. As a result of this acquisition, dorsaVi will now have four dedicated people in the OH&S sector.

“Since its inception, Australian Workplace Compliance has been successful in providing compliance solutions to industries which complement ViSafe and I am thrilled to welcome Mark and his experienced team to dorsaVi,” said Mr Ronchi.

“Mark will lead dorsaVi’s new OH&S and compliance division and make sure our clients are equipped with the latest tools that help reduce the risk of workplace injury while ensuring processes and procedures are compliant with government legislation.”

Mark Heaysman said: “The decision to join dorsaVi was easy, because by bringing the two businesses into one OH&S compliance business, this provides the most comprehensive and unique offering to the market in terms of innovation and analysis with evidence to build strategic solutions for our clients’ OH&S needs.”

About dorsaVi

dorsaVi (ASX:DVL) is an ASX company focused on developing innovative motion analysis device technologies for use in elite sports, occupational health and safety, and clinical applications. dorsaVi believes its wearable sensor technology enables – for the first time – many aspects of detailed human movement and position to be accurately captured, quantified and assessed outside a biomechanics lab, in both real-time and real situations for up to 24 hours.

Our technology has applications across three sectors:

• Clinical: ViMove is transforming the management of patients who are suffering from back pain and musculoskeletal conditions by providing objective assessment, monitoring outside the clinic and immediate biofeedback. ViMove is currently used by medical and physiotherapy practises in Australia and the United Kingdom.

• Elite Sports: ViPerform is allowing coaches and medical teams managing elite athletes and teams to screen and assess risk of soft tissue injury, take preventative action, optimise technique as well as effectively rehabilitate athletes prior to return to sport. ViPerform is being used by AFL and NRL clubs in Australia, clubs in the English Premier League, Australian and Victorian Institutes of Sport, various Olympic teams and athletes internationally, and Cricket Australia.

• OH&S: ViSafe is enabling employers to assess risk of injury for employees as well as effectiveness of proposed changes to workplace design, equipment or methods) based on objective evidence. ViSafe has been used by major corporations including Coles, Woolworths, Toll, Toyota, Orora (formerly Amcor), Crown and BHP Billiton. Combining the focus on compliance and the effective mitigation of costly injuries to a business is the core delivery of this service.
