SOLANA BEACH, Calif., March 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Bridgetech Holdings International, Inc. , announced today that International MedLink, Inc. (IML) of Austin, Texas and Nashville, Tennessee, has signed a strategic alliance agreement with the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing (VUSN) to provide curriculum content for a training program for Philippine nurses in conjunction with International MedLink’s Philippine training partner, St. Louis Review Center. (Bridgetech has entered into an LOI to acquire International MedLink and expects to close on this acquisition during the month of March, 2005.)
The Vanderbilt course curriculum will provide instruction on relevant topics and current U.S. nursing practice to prepare Philippine nurses for the NCLEX-RN examination and to prepare them to work in the United States.
IML provides hospitals and other healthcare facilities with highly qualified nurses from the Philippines, India, and China who are credentialed to practice their profession in the U.S. The American College of Healthcare Executives reported recently that 72% of hospitals are currently experiencing a nursing shortage, and according to the latest projections from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, more than one million new and replacement nurses will be needed by 2012.
According to Bridgetech Chairman, Herbert Wong, “Enrollment in the U.S. Schools of Nursing is not growing fast enough to meet the projected demand for nurses over the next ten years, and this agreement will enable us to provide U.S. hospitals with the highest quality nursing professionals by using the Vanderbilt University nursing curriculum program in the most efficient and expeditious manner.”
Linda Norman, DSN, RN, FAAN, Senior Associate Dean for Academics for Vanderbilt University’s School of Nursing, added: “IML is an industry leader in the training and recruitment of foreign nurses, and we are pleased to partner with them to provide a transition program for nurses who choose to work in the US.” The Vanderbilt University School of Nursing is a respected leader in nursing offering a master’s and doctoral program in a learning environment that focuses on education, practice and research in order to define and respond to health care trends and engage in scholarly work that develops, extends, and disseminates knowledge to enhance the discipline of nursing and the outcomes of health care.
International MedLink, Inc. is an international healthcare recruiting and placement firm specializing in Registered Nurses, and is committed to the satisfaction of its customers by providing highly qualified well trained health professionals.
