Brian Center Inn Now Magnolia Manor Of St. Simons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center

ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga., Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Magnolia Manor, Inc. announced that the Brian Center Inn on St. Simons Island will become the Magnolia Manor of St. Simons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center effective Tuesday, March 1, 2005. The Nursing and Rehabilitation Center joins the Magnolia Manor of St. Simons retirement community located off of Frederica Road.

Magnolia Manor, Inc. is a non-profit organization that operates seven retirement communities in Georgia. The organization is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and serves 1,300 individuals as an older adult ministry of the Church’s South Georgia Conference.

“Acquisition of the Nursing and Rehabilitation Center benefits our residents tremendously,” said Magnolia Manor President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Todd. “Magnolia Manor of St. Simons will now include that vital continuum of care we strive to offer throughout our organization,” Todd said.

Magnolia Manor of St. Simons will host a Ribbon Cutting and Consecration Ceremony at 1:00 pm on March 1. South Georgia Conference Bishop Michael Watson will be the featured speaker. Other United Methodist Church officials and members of the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce will attend the event.

The Brian Center Inn is owned by the Stroud Family of St. Simons Island. The Strouds also own the former Heritage Retirement Community, which became Magnolia Manor of St. Simons on October 1, 2004 when the organization began a long-term lease agreement to manage the facility. Magnolia Manor will enter a similar lease agreement to operate and manage the 125-bed Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Tom Cronemeyer is the administrator of Magnolia Manor of St. Simons and will serve as administrator for the Nursing and Rehabilitation Center as of March 1. Cronemeyer formerly served as the administrator of Magnolia Manor’s 236-bed Methodist Nursing Center and 30-bed Mattie M. Marshall Alzheimer’s Center in Americus, GA where the organization is headquartered.
