WESTMINSTER, Colo., Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Reed Group, Ltd., a leading disability and absence management company and publisher of the industry standard The Medical Disability Advisor, today announced the appointment of Kevin D. Moran as their new Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Presley Reed, founder of Reed Group, remains an active member of the company as Chairman of the Board and Chief Medical Officer.
This senior management appointment occurred in order to accommodate the outstanding growth at Reed Group. In the past year, Reed Group has experienced more than a 100% increase in business. With Mr. Moran as the new CEO, Dr. Presley Reed will have more time for proactive participation and leadership in the disability and absence management industry.
"I am very pleased to welcome Mr. Moran to Reed Group," said Dr. Reed. "He brings a proven track record and a wealth of experience that can only benefit Reed Group and our customers as we continue to grow. This growth stems from US employers gaining insight into the benefits of outsourcing their disability and absence management services to Reed Group and the ever expanding adoption of The Medical Disability Advisor (MDA) guidelines worldwide."
Mr. Moran brings extensive senior management and industry experience to Reed Group. Prior to joining Reed, Mr. Moran worked with a number of venture capital firms, either operating portfolio companies or providing due diligence for prospective investment decisions. Before that, he was Chairman and CEO of Alysis Corporation prior to its sale to Pitney Bowes in 2001. Earlier in his career, he established the 401(K) business for smaller and medium sized corporations for Fidelity Investments. In addition, he was the original architect of Fidelity's Benefits Outsourcing business beginning in 1995. Both businesses have become industry leaders and continue to thrive in today's market.
"This is exactly the type of opportunity I have been looking for," said Mr. Moran. "With Reed Group clearly established as the industry standard, opportunities to leverage its successes are at hand. I plan to leverage Reed's MDA guidelines with my understanding of the outsourcing market to develop and implement a plan for our future growth."
Mr. Moran received a B.A. from College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, Massachusetts, and an M.B.A. from Northeastern University in Boston. He is also a Certified Public Accountant in Massachusetts.
