Novartis AG Is Seeking To Beat Serono International S.A. To First Multiple Sclerosis Pill

June 20 (Bloomberg) -- Debbie Beeley's nursing job didn't prepare her for the shots she's had to give herself every other day for the last six years to control her multiple sclerosis. "The very first time I did it, it was pretty scary,'' said Beeley, 41, who takes Rebif, a multiple sclerosis treatment made by Geneva-based Serono SA. ``When the needle's hovering over your own skin, it's quite different to injecting someone else.'' Beeley, who lives in Rotherham, England, also travels with ice packs and a polystyrene cooler to keep her medication cool.
