Indian Express -- Even as the passenger traffic between Pune and Mumbai has increased multifold over the past few years, the Expressway has emerged as the most preferred route compared to both rail and air travel. The traffic on the Expressway has gone up three-fold since 2000, with a near five per cent yearly increase in the number of vehicles since its inception.
