UV radiation is associated with aging and is one of the major causes of skin cancer. It causes a wide variety of cellular damage such as DNA damage and ionization of lipids and proteins. ProtoKinetix’ previous results have demonstrated the strong preservative effects of AAGP(TM) on skin fibroblasts treated with H2O2 to induce oxidative stress. Based on those findings, the Company has extended these tests to study the effects of AAGP(TM) on skin fibroblast cells exposed to UV radiation.
