HONG KONG--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) will take part in the annual Think Asia Think Hong Kong event (TATHK), to be held on 20 September 2019 in Los Angeles, USA. Hong Kong’s innovation and technology (I&T) sector has been gaining ground as a crucial pillar of Hong Kong’s economy, and has been a major focus area promoted at TATHK events in recent years. For this year’s event, the biotech sector will receive extra focus to attract talent and investments to Hong Kong. Albert Wong, CEO of HKSTP will take part in another thematic session hosted by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, “Smart Banking empowering rapid fintech development in Hong Kong.” He will share the current fintech landscape and related R&D in Hong Kong, as well as case studies that HKSTP has supported.

In addition to the thematic sessions, five of HKSTP’s biotech partner companies and incubatees, including Arbele, Codex Genetics, Opharmic Technology (HK), RainsOptics and Sanomics will showcase their innovations at the InnoVenture Salon of TATHK and explore potential partnership and investment opportunities with other global entrepreneurs and the U.S. business community. HKSTP will also reach out to the US startups and talent by introducing the various mentoring, acceleration and incubation programmes offered by HKSTP, as well as sharing Hong Kong’s unique advantages as a platform to expand into China and the Asian market.

In addition, as a continued effort to promote Hong Kong’s emerging ICT and fintech start-ups, another 11 park companies will be included into the delegation for HKTDC’s “Hong Kong Tech & Startup” mission, happening in the same week in San Diego from 17 – 20 September.
