Doctor’s Guide -- CHICAGO -- October 10, 2010 -- A high dose of transdermal oestrogen significantly reduced total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol in a study of postmenopausal women. The findings suggest that by circumventing metabolism in the liver, transdermal oestrogen therapy may avoid detrimental effects on lipids.
