Delayed Absorbable Monofilament Sutures Equally Effective as Permanent Sutures to Anchor Sacrocolpopexy Mesh: Presented at AUGS

Doctor’s Guide -- LONG BEACH, Calif -- October 5, 2010 -- While most surgeons use permanent sutures versus delayed absorbable monofilament for sacrocolpopexy with mesh insertion, a study presented here at the 31st Annual Meeting of the American Urogynecologic Society (AUGS) shows that using the absorbable variety results in as equally good surgical results as permanent sutures.
