Check For Heparin Skin Lesions

6 Minutes -- Heparin induced skin lesions are much more common than previously thought, and most are delayed-type hypersensitivity reactions, German researchers say. A prospective study of 320 patients using subcutaneous enoxaparin or nadroparin found that 7.5% had small eczematous plaques at the injection site and in some cases the patients had more widespread itchy lesions.
