Canadian biotech companies set a new industry record last year by raising $1.8-billion (U.S.) in capital, almost 40 per cent more than the previous high-water mark that was established three years earlier.According to a report by consultancy Ernst & Young, the previous record for Canada’s biotech sector was set in 2003 when $1.3-billion was raised.
