WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BioFlorida hosted its 4th Annual BioFlorida Legislative Day in Tallahassee on Feb. 16 to address the concerns and future needs of Florida’s biotechnology and life science companies. The event was attended by 21 BioFlorida members who met with 20 legislators serving on substantive and appropriations committees that have jurisdiction over issues of importance to BioFlorida and its member companies. The group, which is the trade association for Florida’s bioscience industry that represents more than 200 member companies and research organizations in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device fields, also heard presentations by Chancellor Frank T. Brogan of the State University System of Florida; Rebecca Rust, director of the Labor Market Statistics Center at the Agency for Workforce Innovation; Florida TaxWatch; and from the Legislative Biotech Caucus.
