URAC Elects Fazen, Metz To Board Of Directors

WASHINGTON, Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- URAC (http://www.urac.org/), a leader in promoting health care quality through accreditation and certification programs, announced today that it has elected Marianne Fazen, Ph.D., chairman of the National Business Coalition on Health’s (http://www.nbch.org/) Board of Governors and executive director of the Dallas-Fort Worth Business Group on Health (DFWBGH), and R. Douglas Metz, D.C., chief health services officer with American Specialty Health (ASH), to its Board of Directors.

Dr. Fazen serves as President and CEO of the Texas Business Group on Health, in addition to overseeing the 117-member DFWGBH (http://www.dfwbgh.org/), an employer coalition committed to market-based health care reform and value-based purchasing.

Dr. Metz is responsible for clinical managed care operations, health services research, accreditation, delegation and quality management for ASH (http://www.ashcompanies.com/). A long-time proponent of third-party validation of systems quality compliance, he has served on the URAC Health Standards Committee since 1999 and currently is its Chairman. Through his leadership, ASH was one of the first complementary health care services organizations to receive URAC accreditation.
