WASHINGTON and PHOENIX, Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- David J. McIntyre, Jr., president and CEO of TriWest Healthcare Alliance, has been appointed to serve on the USO World Headquarters’ Board of Governors. The Board of Governors assists the USO in carrying out its mission of enhancing the quality of life for our men and women in uniform and their families around the world. Chartered by Congress, the USO is a nonprofit, charitable organization serving as the bridge between military personnel and the American people.
“I am pleased and honored that the Board of Governors of the USO has asked me to join them in the essential work they do supporting the men and women wearing the nation’s uniform,” said McIntyre. “We at TriWest share with the USO a common and important mission to serve these deserving men and women, particularly during wartime. As a USO National Sponsor we are pleased to help this dedicated group continue to deliver the programs and services that mean so much to members of the armed forces and their families.”
McIntyre is responsible for the successful operation and growth of TriWest, which provides access to quality health care for 2.7 million members of America’s military family by administering the Department of Defense’s TRICARE health care program in the 21 states of TRICARE’s West Region. He was the architect of the strategic vision that modeled TriWest’s unique business structure.
McIntyre has more than 18 years of experience, success and accomplishments in national health care policy development and business operations. Past president of the Arizona Association of Managed Care Plans, he currently serves on the board of several Arizona health care entities and served as health care policy advisor for Arizona Sen. John McCain.
TriWest is a strong supporter of military personnel and the USO. A USO National Sponsor, TriWest has supported worldwide and local programs in San Diego, Puget Sound, Honolulu and Ramstein, Germany.
