JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Shands Healthcare is the 14th healthcare employer to contract with CE Broker. Shands Healthcare begins Compliance Chek(TM) and provides employees with free access to CE Broker beginning October 1, 2005.
The CE Broker system is the exclusive central repository where all Florida Board approved educational providers report course completions by healthcare professionals. Continuing education transcripts calculate compliance according to the continuing education requirements of the 28 independent healthcare regulating boards/councils. " ... the system will be used to conduct audits of CE compliance electronically instead of our current manual audit system. Our goal is to reach a 100% audit of all licensees,” said Amy Jones, the Director of the Florida Department of Health, Division of Medical Quality Assurance.
Through this agreement Shands Healthcare will obtain primary licensure verification electronically for licensed employees regulated by the Florida Department of Health, Division of Medical Quality Assurance. Shands Healthcare will also provide healthcare professionals ‘no cost’ access to the continuing education transcripts used by the Florida Department of Health to determine continuing education compliance.
“We are pleased to generate a cost savings on primary licensure verification and, at the same time, provide our employees access to CE Broker so they can ensure their continuing education requirements are fulfilled.” - Deborah Miller, Shands Healthcare.
