BYFIELD, Mass.- February 2005 The Scleroderma Foundation awarded one million dollars in new research grants to seven recipients. This year’s total funding continues 17 years of leadership in supporting important and original research focused on the cause and cure of scleroderma, a chronic autoimmune disease affecting approximately 300,000 Americans, eighty percent of whom are women diagnosed between the ages of 25 and 55.
