Pennsylvania Department Of State: PA Secretary Cortes Announces Disciplinary Action Taken By State Board Of Nursing

HARRISBURG, Pa., April 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Pennsylvania Secretary of the Commonwealth Pedro A. Cortes and Basil L. Merenda, Commissioner for the Department of State’s Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs, today announced 103 disciplinary actions taken by the State Board of Nursing between September 2003 and March 2004.

Actions were taken against individuals or firms in the following counties: Allegheny (15 actions); Beaver (2 actions); Berks (4 actions); Blair (2 actions); Bucks (4 actions); Butler (1 action); Centre (1 action); Chester (4 actions); Clinton (1 action); Cumberland (2 actions); Delaware (6 actions); Erie (4 actions); Fayette (1 action); Franklin (1 action); Lackawanna (2 actions); Lancaster (4 actions); Lebanon (1 action); Lehigh (6 actions); Luzerne (3 actions); Lycoming (1 actions); Montgomery (7 actions); Philadelphia (5 actions); Warren (1 action); Washington (3 actions); Westmoreland (3 actions); York (3 actions). A total of 16 actions involved Pennsylvania licenses with out-of-state addresses. Two actions involved unlicensed activity.
