MONTREAL, Aug. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- montméd, Inc., an international distributor and marketer of healthcare products, recently added the FRiO insulin wallet to its lineup of products. The company, which manufactures a wide array of medical devices with a focus on diabetes, sells its products in Canada and internationally and distributes a wide range of products as well. The FRiO insulin wallet is designed to keep insulin at safe, cool temperatures without the use of ice or refrigeration. Keeping insulin cool is an especially difficult task in countries that experience high temperatures. As a result, montméd will be marketing, promoting and distributing FRiO insulin wallets to countries in the Middle East and North Africa, which are collectively known as MENA countries. "We are excited about this new sales and marketing agreement," says one montméd executive. "We are confident that the FRiO insulin wallet will prove to be quite popular in MENA countries."

With the addition of the innovative FRiO insulin cooling wallet, montméd continues to round out its impressive portfolio of diabetic products. The marketing and distributing company already manufactures, promotes and distributes a wide array of diabetic supplies and other medical products. montméd manufactures insulin pen needles, insulin syringes, blood lancets and other supplies, which will complement the FRiO insulin cooling wallet. "Our goal is to provide a complete range of diabetic products and supplys," adds the montméd executive. "There's been a pressing need for an affordable and convenient way to keep insulin cool, and FRiO addresses that need perfectly."
Once insulin is in use, it has a lifespan of 28 days, or one month. To last that long, however, the insulin must be kept at an adequately cool temperature. If it is allowed to get too warm, it must be discarded because it is no longer safe or effective. Otherwise, if damaged insulin is used, a person's blood glucose level could become dangerously high. People in warm climates often waste large amounts of insulin or may be unable to get the insulin they need. Ice packs are inefficient; their lifespans are short. It is not generally practical to keep insulin refrigerated throughout the day. "People are on the go," says the executive. "Traditional options just don't work for everyone."
In the Middle East and North Africa, temperatures routinely soar above 30 degrees Celsius. Diabetic people who must be out and about during the day often struggle to keep their insulin supplies cool. The FRiO insulin cooling wallet is designed to do that conveniently and affordably. Its light, compact design makes it easy to use. It is also reusable. In fact, the FRiO wallet is reusable and durable. It is charged by being placed in water. A single charge lasts for two days at a time, so no complicated steps are involved. "It is a truly remarkable product," adds the Montméd executive.
The FRiO insulin-cooling wallet is designed and manufactured by a UK-based company. However, montméd will be actively marketing and distributing the diabetic product in the Middle East and North Africa. "We are excited to introduce this remarkable product to the people of North Africa and the Middle East," says the executive. "This wallet is perfect for diabetic people who live in hot climates, so we are confident that it will be quite successful in that part of the world."
