MJHS has signed a contract with HomMed, a leader in the medical device industry, to acquire 50 monitoring units as part of a ground-breaking program expansion.
Telehealth is a cutting-edge technological tool that uses advanced telecommunications to transmit diagnostic and therapeutic medical information between patient and nurse without either of them having to travel. Using units located in their homes, patients will be able to monitor their own symptoms, behavior and overall health status. The unit delivers 51 questions and daily reminders specific to each patient’s condition concerning important health topics such as diet, exercise and medication compliance. Nurses then remotely view the patient responses and data, allowing for immediate intervention should a patient’s condition become acute.
