ATLANTA, Feb. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Georgia Reproductive Specialists (GRS), an Atlanta fertility clinic, has added a "Mind/Body" group to their list of service offerings. Traditionally, fertility clinics have focused only on medical treatment and patients have had to go elsewhere to deal with the psychological implications of infertility. The team at GRS is committed to not only offering the most advanced and effective medical treatment available, but also to treat each patient as an individual and address all of her needs associated with infertility.
"Ask any woman who has ever undergone fertility treatment and I am confident that she will tell you it was a very stressful point in her life," said Susan C. Conway, MD, MPH, MMSc, a GRS physician. "By partnering with local therapists and offering this Mind/Body program, we are able to treat the medical condition as well as offer ways to help manage the stress of it all."
The Mind/Body group at GRS is a 10-week program that is offered to women who are having trouble conceiving, including those who are not currently patients at GRS. Meeting in a supportive group setting, the program emphasizes teaching the relaxation response, cognitive-behavioral strategies to enhance coping skills, yoga and stretching exercises, and nutrition management. The first 10-week session begins on Tuesday, March 8th and there is still space available. Interested women are encouraged to call 404-843- 2229 x136 for additional information.
