Callers claiming to be representatives of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama are calling Medicare beneficiaries asking for credit card numbers and other personal financial information in an attempt to collect enrollment fees for the BlueRx(SM) Prescription Discount Card. Blue Cross is concerned that Medicare beneficiaries eligible for the BlueRx Prescription Discount Card are being misled. BlueRx is a no fee prescription discount card that has been approved by Medicare to provide eligible Medicare participants who live in Alabama savings on their prescription drugs. BlueRx members are responsible for the cost of prescriptions.
