PITTSBURGH, May 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Aethon, the nation's leading provider of low-cost solutions for automating transport in hospitals, is on the move. The company will leave its Northside headquarters this week for a new office and manufacturing facility in Robinson Township as part of an aggressive expansion plan that began earlier this year. The company also announced several new appointments in the extension of its National Sales division.
Aldo Zini, Aethon's president and CEO, said the increased demand for the company's flagship product, the Tug transport robot, has fueled the need for a larger office/manufacturing facility and an increase in staff and sales support for Aethon's growing national healthcare clientele.
"We are definitely ahead of schedule with our expansion plans," said Zini. "There's been such an accelerated interest in Tugs from hospitals around the country that we decided the time was right to make the move to larger space and add to our sales team," he added.
Aethon's new national headquarters, located in the Campbell's Run Business Center, is 13,000 square feet and will ultimately house up to 100 employees. The company's Tugs will be manufactured on-site. Aethon entered into the lease agreement with Massaro Properties Inc.
Aethon's new staff appointments include the addition of three Regional Vice Presidents, six sales executives and a Vice President of Consulting Services. Three more employees will be added to the sales team in 2005.
Those named as Aethon's new Regional Vice Presidents are: Kevin Hill, Southeast Regional VP (formerly with ForHealth Technologies); Jeff Arbuckle, Midwest Regional VP (formerly Omnicell) and Karen Dockrell, Northeast Regional VP (formerly with McKesson Automated Prescription Services).
The most versatile transport system available in healthcare, Aethon's powerful Tugs are now at work in several hospitals across the nation, saving nurses, pharmacists and hospital staff more than 20,000 total trips per month. And, ongoing studies are proving even more impressive results - Tugs are helping hospitals improve clinical productivity, impact bottom line costs, improve patient safety, elevate employee satisfaction and overcome staff shortages.
