PITTSBURGH, Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- After a nationwide search, Cygnus Manufacturing Company LLC (CMC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dennis S. Meteny as President and Chief Executive Officer effective Monday, August 28, 2006. Mr. Meteny will report to Craig K. Harding, Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Mr. Harding said that Dennis Meteny brings excellent experience and leadership to CMC. Mr. Harding said Mr. Meteny will help drive our strategy of growing CMC through the acquisition and development of proprietary medical devices, while continuing to grow our contract manufacturing business.
Previously, Mr. Meteny was President and CEO of TeeMyn, a business advisory firm; Executive in Residence of the Pittsburgh Life Sciences Greenhouse; and President, Chief Operating Officer and Board member of TissueInformatics of Pittsburgh.
Mr. Meteny is probably best known as former President and Chief Executive Officer of Pittsburgh based Respironics, Inc., where he spent 15 years. During his leadership as President and CEO, the company grew its sales to $350 million. Respironics is the leading provider of innovative products and solutions in the global sleep and respiratory markets.
CMC is a leading manufacturer of minimally and non-invasive medical device products, health and safety components, and high precision transportation, aerospace and industrial products.
