Airline Stocks Open Lower; US Airways Raises $234M

MarketWatch -- Airline stocks lost ground early Tuesday and US Airways said it raised $234 million in a previously annnounced stock and debt offering. US Airways shares fell 3% to $3.63. The Amex Airline Index dropped 2% to 18.28 points, with 12 of the 13 index components declining. JetBlue Airways fell more than 4%. Continental Airlines and United Airlines parent UAL Corp. both dropped more than 3%.
