NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Touro Infirmary, the only not-for- profit, faith based, full-service community hospital in New Orleans, has announced that it will NOT re-open its emergency department on Wednesday, September 21 at 7 a.m.
Touro Infirmary has postponed the re-opening of the emergency department due to Mayor Nagin’s call for a re-evacuation of New Orleans and the impending Hurricane Rita.
As more information becomes available, Touro Infirmary along with government officials will determine an anticipated date to re-open the emergency department.
