SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Intransa, the global leader in enterprise IP SAN storage systems, announced today that Dynamic Health Strategies, a Houston-based healthcare consulting and management firm, has deployed the Intransa IP 3000, with two terabytes of storage capacity, for its demanding business intelligence application designed to help the firm extract and analyze data for clients throughout North America.
The multi-dimensional business intelligence application is used to build models for the healthcare organizations that make up Dynamic Health Strategies’ client roster. The files created by the application are a challenge to manage, each often growing to 12 gigabytes in size. The files must remain online as they are accessed frequently by the firm’s analysts.
Before his decision to implement Intransa’s IP SAN, Director of Sales and Marketing Jeff Chestnut was counting on direct-attached storage to supply storage to the growing files and volumes of data. As Dynamic Health Strategies grows, Intransa’s modular approach allows the firm to dynamically increase storage capacity without affecting user access to the files, eliminating downtime needed to increase resources when and where needed. Furthermore, Intransa’s native Ethernet infrastructure allows optimum performance even when multiple users are accessing the same model data at once.
“The Intransa SAN has been a huge addition to our infrastructure, not just because of price, but mostly due to the ease of administration and the ease of use. I have passed on the day-to-day management to a non-IT person,” said Jeff Chestnut, director of sales and marketing, Dynamic Health Strategies, Inc. “Intransa’s IP SAN has allowed me freedom to move on to higher priority issues. The bottom line there is that it is easier to manage and administer than Fibre Channel alternatives, and that saves us time and money.”
“The Intransa IP 3000 is an ideal solution for businesses addressing growing demands on their storage in terms of performance or capacity -- without adding any complexity to the user experience of the backend operations,” said John Noellert, vice president of North America sales, Intransa. “Our modular approach allows easy growth as companies expand. Many customers start using Intransa’s IP-based SANs for a project and end up looking for ways to increase their use in the shop because they’re so easy to configure, expand, and maintain.”
Intransa’s IP SAN product family is designed to leverage the power of a company’s existing investment in Ethernet infrastructure. Through familiar host/array networking with TCP/IP, the low cost of serial-ATA disk, and the speed of iSCSI networking, the Intransa IP SAN allows for easy expansion and an attractive pay-back period to achieve a full return on investment. At a fraction of the cost of proprietary Fibre Channel disk arrays, Intransa’s modular architecture supports the flexibility to add up to petabytes of data with a single chassis. The patented IntraStor(TM) architecture allows Intransa customers to tune performance and capacity seamlessly, without disruption to production systems. Intransa’s StorControl(TM) software allows simple management and automatic recognition of new disk enclosures and controllers. Intransa’s IP SAN provides a low-cost alternative to Fibre Channel for disaster recovery, consolidation, archiving, and migration projects.
